Essential Oils - The Simple 1, 2, 3s
My first introduction to essential oils was at a small gathering at the home of a friend of a friend; she was hosting a class. After witnessing these tiny bottles diffuse a massive allergy attack - hives and all - in under 7 minutes, I was ready to pay cash money to kiss my rescue inhaler and allergy pills goodbye.
Triease was instant magic.
But what to do with all the other oils that came in my Family Essentials kit?
After years of using essential oils, I realized it really comes down to three easy steps.
1. Ask yourself, how am I feeling?
For example, my allergies and asthma made me feel congested, short of breath, itchy, irritable, and puffy faced.
2. Use a resource!
* Modern Essentials (Check out the App Store or get the book!)
* Google #doterra #cptg #essentialoils & check out all the blogs!
Joining our team also gives you access to us! Signing up for your own membership comes with an instant savings of 25% off anything you purchase. In addition, you gain access to several online communities where hundreds of folks share their own experiences with essential oils and holistic health.
You will find everything from a list of oils that can address your health challenge, to in depth step by step accounts of ways to use them. (These are often called “protocols”.)
For example, lemon, lavender, and peppermint oil are a dream team for allergy sufferers. You can put them in a veggie cap (3-5 drops each), or grab some Triease, a premade gel cap of lemon, lavender, and peppermint oils.
3. After you consult your resources, chose a plan of action. Topically, Aromatically, or Internally? Or all three?
You may go with what you have. You’ll find that every oil has multiple uses, and there’s some overlap. Or, you may be inclined to place an order based on what your resources suggest.
Here are some tips on how to use the oils you choose:
Topically - The issue/pain is localized ex. Acne, vision, joint pain
Aromatically -Broader use, the whole family can benefit ex. Respiratory, emotional
Internally -Illness, viral, digestive challenges ex. Flu, congestion
*these examples are not exhaustive*
doTERRA Essential Oils vs OTC (Over the Counter meds)
doTERRA's CPTG Essential Oils don’t have synthetics or chemicals. This means they don’t have a time-release mechanism, they don’t tax major systems like your kidneys and liver while they’re being processed.
You take EO’s more frequently vs 1-2 OTCs a day. The trade-off is they don’t leave negative impacts on your body in the process of treating symptoms.
EOs can treat symptoms AND causes directly without costing you negative impacts. Ex. Headaches are treated without negative impacts on your liver, like OTC analgesics tend to have.
When I first found doTERRA CPTG essential oils, I was taking an OTC allergy pill daily and rebelling against my allergist, who wanted me to get allergy shots every two weeks.
I started taking 3 Triease every 4-6 hours. After about two weeks it was once every 8 hours. That protocol + removing dairy from my diet was pure magic! I haven’t used my inhaler, or taken OTC allergy anything, in over 5 years.
Everybody, and every body, is different. So maybe your magic is in another protocol. You will notice themes in different protocols and testimonials, and your intuition will guide you a bit, as well.
The beauty of the oils is that you can’t really go wrong. If you don’t feel a shift in as little as 15-20 minutes up to one hour, try another protocol.
Use your resources, and ask for help when you need it!
